Wednesday scent of the day 9/15 :: Now Smell This

It’s Hump Day, the International Day of Democracy and Agatha Christie’s birthday. RIP Norm Macdonald. What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m in Maria Candida Gentile Lankaran Forest for Rainy Night in Georgia, the Conway Twitty + Sam Moore version from the 1994 album Rhythm, Country and Blues.

Reminder: 9/17 is International Country Music Day. Name a favorite country music song and wear a fragrance to match.

And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I’ll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Below, Conway Twitty and Sam Moore singing Rainy Night in Georgia. The song was written in 1967 by Tony Joe White (here) and popularized by Brook Benton in 1970 (here). There is also a fantastic Lucinda Williams version (and while you’re at it, she has great covers of Ode to Billie Joe and The Games People Play), and of course Ray Charles.
